A highly sensitive fluorogenic chemodosimeter for rapid visual detection of phosgene.

A highly sensitive chemodosimeter was identified from a panel of rhodamine derivatives for rapid and visual detection of phosgene with a detection limit of 50 nM triphosgene. Visual detection of gaseous phosgene with chemodosimeter absorbed paper strips was demonstrated.

Highly Sensitive FRET-Based Fluorescence Immunoassay for Detecting of Aflatoxin B1 Using Magnetic/Silica Core-Shell as a Signal Intensifier

Background: Recently, some new nanobiosensors using different nanoparticles or microarray systems for detection of mycotoxins have been designed . However, rapid, sensitive and early detection of aflatoxicosis would be very helpful to distinguish high-risk persons. Objectives: We report a highly sensitive competitive immunoassay using magnetic/silica core shell as a signal intensifier for the d...

The formation of phosgene by the action of hot surfaces and its absence when tobacco is smoked in atmospheres containing chlorinated hydrocarbon vapours.

When trichloroethylene or certain other solvent vapours are heated to a temperature of 4000 C. or more, or when the liquids decompose by exposure to light on standing in air, phosgene is produced. It is generally believed or assumed from this that when cigarettes are smoked in atmospheres contaminated with the solvent vapours phosgene is also produced and inhaled. However, nowhere in the litera...

Time-Resolved FRET -Based Approach for Antibody Detection – A New Serodiagnostic Concept

Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) is a phenomenon widely utilized in biomedical research of macromolecular interactions. In FRET energy is transferred between two fluorophores, the donor and the acceptor. Herein we describe a novel approach utilizing time-resolved FRET (TR-FRET) for the detection of antibodies not only in a solution-phase homogenous assay but also in single- and two-step...
